Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using BraiseUp Academy. They explain your rights and obligations as a user of the Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using BraiseUp Academy ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that: • All registration information you provide is accurate and up to date. • You will maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others. • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Accounts
You may register as a Student, Instructor (Facilitator), or through an invitation as a Teaching Assistant. Each account is personal and non-transferable. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
4. Courses and Enrolment
Courses are offered as one-time purchases unless otherwise stated. Access to a course begins upon successful payment confirmation from Paystack and remains available for the duration specified on the course page (or indefinitely where no duration is stated). Free or discounted access granted via coupon codes is subject to the same content restrictions and may not be combined with other offers unless explicitly permitted. Course content — including videos, text, quizzes, and downloads — is for your personal, non-commercial learning only.
5. Payments and Refunds
All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law. Payments are processed securely by Paystack. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase via braiseupacademy@gmail.com. Refunds will not be granted if: • More than 50% of the course content has been accessed. • A certificate of completion has been issued. • The request falls outside the 7-day window. We reserve the right to decline refund requests that appear to abuse this policy. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days.
6. Live Sessions
Certain courses include scheduled live sessions delivered via Google Meet or Zoom. Session dates and times are displayed in West Africa Time (WAT, UTC+1) unless otherwise specified. • Sessions are recorded and the recording may be made available to enrolled students. • We are not liable for technical issues outside our control (e.g. Google Meet or Zoom outages, internet connectivity on your end). • Missing a live session does not entitle you to a refund; recordings are provided where possible.
7. Certificates
Certificates of completion are issued when you meet the stated requirements for a course (e.g. completing all modules and passing the final quiz with the required score). Certificates are digital and can be verified on the Platform using a unique verification code. Certificates do not confer academic qualifications or professional licences unless explicitly stated on the course page.
8. Intellectual Property
All course content, branding, and Platform code are the intellectual property of BraiseUp Academy or its licensors. You may not: • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or resell any course content. • Record live sessions without prior written consent. • Use BraiseUp Academy's name, logo, or trademarks without permission. • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the Platform's source code. Sharing your personal login credentials to give others access to paid content is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination without refund.
9. User Conduct
You agree not to: • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or obscene. • Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users or Platform staff. • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform. • Introduce malware, spam, or any disruptive code. • Use the Platform for commercial solicitation without our written consent. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend any account that violates these standards.
10. Instructor Terms
Instructors who submit courses for publication agree that: • All submitted content is original or properly licensed, and does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. • Content is accurate to the best of their knowledge. • BraiseUp Academy retains the right to review, edit, or remove content that does not meet platform standards. Revenue sharing and instructor compensation terms are governed by a separate Instructor Agreement provided during the application process.
11. Disclaimers
The Platform and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that: • Course content will be error-free or always up to date. • The Platform will be uninterrupted or free from technical issues. • Completing a course will result in specific career outcomes or professional success. Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, BraiseUp Academy's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant course in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profit or data.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be referred to mediation in good faith. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
